Now that you have had an introduction to hardware, you are ready to look at the basics of troubleshooting. As you go through this chapter and future chapters, you can apply the basics of troubleshooting to understand how a computer works and how to quickly fix any problem.

Of course, any time a computer breaks down or degrades is a bad time. Therefore, you need to learn how a little maintenance can make a computer last longer so that you avoid problems before they occur and before you lose data.
