Cisco Unified Wireless Network Review

Cisco Unified Wireless Network Review

Note

Some of the information in this first main section of this appendix is derived from the Authorized Self-Study Guide: Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN), Second Edition, by Diane Teare, Cisco Press, 2007 (ISBN 1-58705-272-5) to provide a detailed review of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network. Some questions related to this material in the “Review Questions” section at the end of this appendix also derive from those in the same DESGN book.

This section first discusses wireless radio frequency communication, antennas, and IEEE 802.11 WLAN operational standards. WLAN components (including clients and access points) are described next, followed by a discussion of WLAN operations. The Cisco UWN architecture is then introduced.
