    Section 6. MGCP

    Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) must be configured on both the gateway and the Unified Communication Manager. Here are the steps needed to register an MGCP gateway to a CUCM server:

    1.
    Configure the IP address on the interface and enable IP routing on the gateway.

    2.
    Give a unique name to the gateway:

    hostname ATL1-mgcp

    3.
    Start the MGCP daemon:

    mgcp

    4.
    Configure the IP address or DNS for CUCM:

    Code View: Scroll / Show All
    mgcp call-agent 10.10.10.1 (This is the IP address of call control agent (CUCM).)

    5.
    Enable CUCM support in MGCP:

    ccm-manager mgcp

    6.
    Enable the gateway to download configuration files:

    ccm-manager config
ccm-manger config server (ip address)
