Chapter 7, “Configuring the Cisco 3002 Hardware Client for Remote Access,” provided an initial configuration of a remote-access VPN using the 3002 Hardware Client. This chapter looks at one of the valuable features of the Hardware Client, the user and unit authentication feature. From a design perspective, one reason that the 3002 Hardware Client is chosen over competing hardware-based VPN devices is because of its ability to do individual user authentication.
