Using the Universal Print Driver

Printer creation requires the presence of a suitable printer driver. In large organizations where there are a large variety of printers, printer driver management can become quite cumbersome. To simplify printer creation, Citrix developed the Universal Print Driver (UPD), a printer driver created for XenApp implementations. The UPD is a generic driver that can be used with most printers. It can be used to create numerous different types of printers, and it helps reduce the administrative overhead that can be associated with complex printing environments.

There are several versions of the Citrix Universal Print Driver: EMF, XPS, PCL5c, PCL4, and PS.
