This lesson looks at application deployment and virtualization. There are several methods through which you can deploy applications, the most common of which is Group Policy. This lesson will also look at the steps you need to take to deploy web applications to servers running Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 or IIS 7.5. Application Virtualization (App-V) is a process where applications are run locally in their own separate environments, but where the application is not actually installed on the local machine. Running an application in its own environment ensures that no conflicts occur as each operating system or application is located in the equivalent of its own sealed environment. This lesson also will teach you about RemoteApp, a special type of presentation virtualization technology that allows you to run RDS applications without having to run them in a normal RDS window.
