Outlook Anywhere is a new name for a feature that was introduced with Exchange Server 2003, RPC over HTTP. Outlook Anywhere enables Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and 2007 to connect from anywhere to the Exchange mailbox store, using HTTP(s), without requiring the configuration of a Virtual Private Network or opening a massive amount of ports on your firewall.
Exchange Server 2007 has simplified the deployment process of Outlook Anywhere by introducing an Enabling Outlook Anywhere wizard, which you need to run on a Client Access server in your Exchange organization.
