This book was put together by a team of respected professionals, and we, the authors, would like to thank them each for the great job they did. At Microsoft, Ken Jones worked out our contracts, and Jenny Moss Benson and Laura Sackerman were our developmental editors. Carol Whitney at nSight was the project manager, coordinating the many other people who worked on the book. Among those, Kerin Foley and Joe Gustaitis were our copyeditors, who are responsible for making sure the book is readable and consistent, and Lindsey Valich and Paul Connelly provided additional proofreading.

Orin Thomas, Rozanne Murphy Whalen, and Bob Dean provided a technical review to help make the book as accurate as possible. Angela Montoya was our graphic artist, processing screenshots and converting our rough diagrams into the polished art you’ll see throughout the book. Terrie Cundiff was our desktop publisher, largely responsible for creating a great presentation in the printed book. Jack Lewis created the index that you’ll find at the back of the book.

Many other people helped with this book, even though they weren’t formally part of the team. Tony Northrup would like to thank his friends, especially Tara Banks, Kristin Cavour, Chris and Diane Geggis, Bob Hogan, Bob Dean, and Samuel Jackson, for helping him enjoy his time away from the keyboard. The whole team at nSight deserves a second round of thanks for helping Tony finish off more than a couple bottles of wine (and pitchers of margaritas). Enjoy Costa Rica, Cindy! Tony would also like to thank his wife, Erica, for being so patient during many long days of writing, as well as Erica’s family—Mike, Michelle, Sandi, and Raymond Edson. Finally, a special thanks to Jenny Lozier, her mother, and Mr. T, who must read this at a local retail outlet.

It makes a huge difference when you consider the people you work with to be friends. Having a great team not only improves the quality of the book, it makes it a more enjoyable experience. Writing this book was my most enjoyable project yet, and I hope I get the chance to work with everyone in the future.
