Phase Four: Execution

The climax phase of your implementation plan is Execution. This is what you've been working for since project inception. You perform an incremental implementation throughout the organization. You may choose to utilize your production pilot as the first increment of your production deployment. You may also choose to completely start from scratch to create a pristine Windows 2000 environment. (We recommend the latter.)

During the production rollout, you don't stop testing and documenting. In fact, the production rollout is itself a cycle of deploy, test, validate (and document), and support. One of the secondary focuses during deployment should be knowledge transfer. The support and operations staff, server and infrastructure teams, security team, and so forth should all be integrated into the deployment team for hands-on knowledge transfer.
