Managing and Optimizing Performance for Mobile Computers

Manage, monitor, and optimize system performance for mobile users.

Laptops pose special problems when you are trying to optimize their performance or manage them remotely. The fact that mobile computers are not always connected to a network means there must be a variety of configurations used to define devices that might or might not be available when the system is started. If the network is not available, additional services must be configured to provide access to information when the system is offline and a means to merge changed data back when the system is online again. The small footprint size of laptops also dictates a constraint on resources. Power conservation is of primary importance to laptop users.
