Chapter 17

1. A, B, E, G. You must upgrade the server to Windows Server 2008 R2, install the Web Server (IIS) server role on the server, install at least two network adapters on the server, and configure the network adapter that is connected to the Internet with two consecutive IPv4 addresses. DirectAccess is a new feature in Windows Server 2008 R2 and is not supported by the original version of Windows Server 2008. The use of two consecutive public IPv4 addresses on the perimeter network interface enables the DirectAccess server to act as a Teredo server, enabling clients on the internal network to use this server to detect the type of network address translation (NAT) device that they are behind. If the network adapter has just a single IPv4 address, DirectAccess will not work because these two addresses are required on the Teredo server to determine the type of NAT device behind which the DirectAccess client is located. Although the DirectAccess server must be a member of an AD DS domain, it does not need to be a domain controller. Also, while AD CS is required, this role can be installed on a different server.
