Event Viewer

Event Viewer, found as a component of Server Manager and as a separate MMC console in the Administrative Tools folder, enables you to view logs of events generated by Windows and its applications. Actions you can perform with Event Viewer include the following:

• View events stored in multiple event logs. This helps you locate events related to a particular problem that you might be encountering on your server.

• Create and save event log filters for later reuse as custom views that display a preconfigured set of events that you might want to analyze when troubleshooting a particular type of problem. You can use this custom view whenever you encounter such a problem; you can also export the view to other computers and share it with other people.
