11. Designing SQL Server Security > Lesson 2: Configuring the SQL Server Surfac...

Lesson 2: Configuring the SQL Server Surface Area

Given enough time, anyone can eventually beat any security implementation. The purpose of security is to provide enough barriers such that the effort required to break into a system exceeds the benefit received. In this lesson, you learn how to configure your instances to expose the minimum number of attack points possible by minimizing the feature set that is enabled within SQL Server.

After this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Enable and disable SQL Server features

Estimated lesson time: 15 minutes
