Chapter 8. Policies and Public Folders > Lesson 2: Configuring Public Folders

8.3. Lesson 2: Configuring Public Folders

In Chapter 4, you learned how to create, delete, and modify the basic settings of Exchange Server 2007 public folders. During the course of this lesson, you will learn how to configure advanced public folder replication settings, including limiting the replication of a public folder to a specific set of mailbox servers and configuring a replication period that is separate from that of the host public folder database. You will also learn how to configure both client and administrator public folder permissions. At the end of the lesson, you will learn how to configure advanced mail settings for public folders. As mentioned in Chapter 4, almost all public folder configuration tasks involve using Exchange Management Shell. This is especially true in this lesson, as an Exchange Server 2007 public folder administrator has little recourse to graphic user interface (GUI) administration tools.

After this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Configure public folder replication.

  • Configure public folder permissions.

  • Mail-enable folder access.

Estimated lesson time: 30 minutes
