• For both exam and administrative purposes, learn the "Windows Small Business Server way" for handling administrative tasks. The Windows Small Business Server methods make sure that everything is updated where it’s supposed to be updated. If you use the "wrong" (native, or enterprise) methods to manage Windows Small Business Server, you can mess up your server and fail the exam.

• You can manage permissions for Outlook Web Access in multiple ways in the Windows SBS Console, including at the user account level, the user role level, and at the Outlook Web Access site.

• Be sure to understand the difference between ActiveSync and Exchange ActiveSync. Most times, the term ActiveSync is used to explain both synchronization methods, but it’s important to understand the differences.

• Understand the differences between SharePoint sites and SharePoint lists/libraries. Remember that a SharePoint site is a collection of lists and libraries.

• Outlook Anywhere can be tricky to get running because you need to establish and install the Windows Small Business Server self-signed SSL certificate. Be sure you know how to create this certificate and how to install it on remote computers.

• Windows SBS 2008 includes a number of wizards, including the Connect To The Internet Wizard and the Internet Address Wizard, intended to ease the initial product rollout. Know them well and make sure that you know exactly what happens when each wizard is run.
