Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Windows Forms both provide support for creating your own controls when the pre-built controls do not provide the required functionality for your application. In this chapter, you learn how to create custom controls in both Windows Forms and WPF and user controls in Windows Forms and how to extend preexisting controls through inheritance.
