    Configuring Zone Transfers and Replication

    When changes are made to zone data on the master DNS server, they must be replicated to all DNS servers that are authoritative for the zone. This is essential so that the data will be available for answering queries. If only a single DNS server is available and it fails to respond, the query will fail.

    The following two methods of DNS replication are available in Windows Server 2008 DNS:
