Project police type may not work out with Agile projects but project support group and consulting may work well with Agile.

The role of PMO in Agile project actually provides an insight into stakeholders of the value delivered. With respect to Agile governance, executives are mostly interested in investments. ‘Governance in Agile environment’ means making decision in uncertain environment. Agile project governance team would be interested in both investment decisions and risks. For a traditional waterfall approach, PMO expect the following in the initiation of a project: Full set of requirements with estimates, six sigma techniques adopted by Agile PMO, Pareto diagrams and RCA because they help to concentrate on important elements and find out the real cause.
