Project management is full of processes. A project management process is a set of specific actions performed to bring about a specific project result or condition. It’s basically a series of activities that helps the project move toward its final closure. There are 42 project management processes that you can use on any project. The 42 project management processes equate to many, many different project management activities. This doesn’t mean, however, that you need to use all 42 processes and all of the project management activities on every project you manage. Consider the 42 project management processes as a buffet—take what you’ll need, when you need it, and save the rest.
