Chapter 3: Identifying Project Stakeholders

Exam Objective

check.png Analyze stakeholders to identify expectations and gain support for the project.

This chapter focuses on identifying those people and groups of people who can impact your project — or think they can! They are called stakeholders. You will see ways to identify them, and then analyze their needs. You will also look at some ways to categorize stakeholders into groups so you can develop strategies to manage their expectations effectively.

Stakeholders may also be impacted by your project, sometimes negatively, sometimes positively. Identifying impacted stakeholders and understanding their needs and concerns will help you manage their expectations. Ultimately, your goal is to gain stakeholder support for your project.
