This section focuses on providing the essentials for these commands. 7.6.1 The tacmd command Administrative tacmd commands are available on both Windows and UNIX computers. The basic usage of this command is: tacmd command [option [operand ...]] ... The majority of the functions this command provides requires a login. When logged in, the user has full access to the commands until logging off the OS or until the timeout occurs. The timeout is 15 minutes by default. However, it can be set to a maximum of 1440 minutes (24 hours) with the -t|-timeout flag. Note: On Windows, several tacmd commands exist. Be sure to use the command under $install_dir/CLI, where the $install_dir is the directory on which IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.1 is installed. Using the other tacmd commands results in an entry point failure for a kui61.dll.
