We hold the view that one of the main benefits of developing a process to resolve dilemmas is the value of future learning for the practitioner that can emerge. Conclusions In this chapter we have tried to set out the developing nature of ethics in coaching. We have considered the nature of ethics, its role in coaching and offered a framework for how coaches may complement ethical codes with a structured decision-making model to resolve ethical dilemmas. For us the true value of such a framework lies in the potential it has in helping new as well as experienced coaches, making their tacit decision making more explicit and thus offering opportunities for further learning and personal development.
