Chapter 12. Importing and Exporting Data

Access is a powerful program, but it's not the only database program available. Fortunately, you can import data from tables produced by other database programs, link tables in your Access databases to tables from other programs, and even include tables from other databases (and spreadsheet programs like Excel and Lotus 1-2-3) in your queries.

Data exchange in Access isn't a one-way street. You can export your Access tables to Paradox, dBASE, and other compatible database and spreadsheet programs. You can also export your table data to Microsoft Word for use in mass mailings or other documents.
