Creating Pivot Tables

Create a pivot table whenever you want to display your data to emphasize different aspects of the information. In the Sales Analysis pivot table for the Northwind sample database, for example (Figure 11.1), you can emphasize the year (and quarter) sales took place, the employee who made the sales, the country the goods were shipped to, and any combination of the values you can imagine.
