The Workbook Wizard

As discussed in Chapter 3, the Discoverer Desktop Workbook Wizard has six steps, while Discoverer Plus has only five steps, but all of the functionality. However, the quickest way to build a new query is to use only four of the steps. These steps form a simple workflow and will be covered in this chapter.

The Workbook Wizard Steps

As previously stated, depending upon which version of Discoverer you are using, the number of steps in the wizard will change. In the following sections, we tell you the ordering of the steps in both versions. We also tell you at a glance which of the steps are essential and which are optional.
