Chapter 9. Building Powerful Reports

9. Building Powerful Reports

When building reports in Access 2010, you want to be familiar with many important techniques.

Reports allow you to preview and print the information stored in your database. In Chapter 4, “Using Reports to Print Information,” you learned the basics of working with reports. Here we take your knowledge to the next level. We begin by discussing report bands and how you use them. We then explore report controls and how you can control their behavior by using control properties. Next you learn how to add sorting and grouping to the reports that you build. You also learn how you can create one-to-many reports, and how to work with subreports. Finally, the chapter covers report properties and the advantages and disadvantages of storing a report’s record source as a stored query.
