Most countries in the world have public policies providing for maternity leave after a woman has a child. Most nations recognize a value in protecting a woman's job for some period of time, allowing her to spend time at home with a new baby. There is considerable variation in local practices though, with some countries specifying quite lengthy maternity leave periods and others allowing for very short maternity leave protection.
In our data table, one of the nominal variables indicates whether the law of a country allows for maternity leaves of 90 days or longer (MatLeave90+). We also have a column that indicates the region in which the country is located (Region). With JMP we can investigate the covariation of these categorical variables using a few different approaches.
