In This Chapter

In a typical application lifecycle, you first manipulate your data in the development environment where you can change any element of the application if you don’t like the way it behaves when it works with the data. Then, you move the application (and likely the data) to the test environment, from which it is likely to return to the development environment after the testers find problems. At some point, you’re satisfied with the application and are ready to deploy it to a production environment.
