Writing a book is a very personal goal—not only to share in your thoughts and knowledge, but also to leave something lasting that will make an impact on other people. While manuals are not often thought of as having large impact on a particular person or organization, my sincerest hope is that this book will help someone be more successful in their position, and a company more productive.

Every technical author has two groups of people assisting to get the concept to market. The first is the editors at their publisher, and Lisa McClain and her staff have been about as helpful and patient as any author can ask for.
