Chapter 10. TOAD App Designer > TOAD Command Line

TOAD Command Line

The old TOAD Command Line feature works fairly simply. When you launch certain screens, they will possess two icons on their toolbar, as shown in Figure 10.1. “Load All Settings from File” and “Save Settings to File” will generally (but not always) be in the first two toolbar icon positions. When you choose the save icon, it creates a text file that contains all of the information that you set every screen control. In Figure 10.1, we have asked the “Generate Schema Script” option to create a file called C:\Temp\SCOTT.sql. If we were to now click the green arrow toolbar button to execute the task, we would find the requested SQL file in the temp directory. We will not execute this task, however, but rather will click the save toolbar icon and ask TOAD to create a command-line file called C:\Temp\gen_scott_schema.txt.
