10.4. Passive Channel JIF and Jitter Amplification

As shown in the previous section, a clock is often forwarded along with data for high-speed parallel interfaces. At high frequency, channel attenuation [8] [9] [10] significantly amplifies clock jitter. This section describes a closed-form jitter impulse function model [10] for a passive channel, and illustrates the jitter amplification due to channel attenuation.
