1.15. Writing the Project Plan

After securing management support, writing a good plan is the most important action that you can take to ensure the success of your upgrade project. It is vital that you get your thoughts down on paper so that there is a record of the process that you went through to develop your design. You will also be able to use this plan to task the members of your deployment team during the more practical and involved stages.

Job Aid 1 was specially developed by MCS personnel to assist with the process of creating a project plan. It was designed to work with Job Aid 2 (project planning Gantt chart) and to make the process of asking and recording the right questions much easier.
