    7.5. Configuring EXDNS2 (Caching Only)

    In this section, you will configure EXDNS2, which is a caching only, external resolving DNS server. This component is included in the Hosting Data Center design to reduce the loading on the primary resolving DNS server.

    7.5.1. Configuring EXDNS2 to Listen on VLAN 11

    EXDNS2 should only listen to name resolution requests coming from the hosted network. This is so it can respond only to requests from the SMTP front-end servers and not from the Internet.
