About the author

Jaap Wesselius is an independent consultant focusing on Unified Communications solutions; primarily Exchange Server solutions, with a touch of Unified Messaging, Office Communications Server 2007 or Lync Server 2010 to keep things fresh. Together with a few other independent consultants, he spends most of his time working on Exchange Server solutions. In fact, he's being doing that ever since Exchange Server 4.0 came out, long, long ago in 1995.

After working in Microsoft for eight years, Jaap decided in 2006 that the time had come to leave Redmond and start his own business. This was also the period when he got a chance to commit more of his time to the Exchange community in The Netherlands, resulting in an Exchange Server MVP award in 2007 which he's held on to ever since. Jaap is also a regular contributor at the Dutch Unified Communications User Group (HTTP://WWW.UCUG.NL), and a regular author for Simple-Talk (HTTP://WWW.SIMPLE-TALK.COM). Besides Exchange Server, Jaap really likes to work with Hyper-V and, as a result, he also founded the Dutch Hyper-V (HTTP://WWW.HXPER-V.NU). community in early 2008.

When time permits (and it never permits enough), Jaap savors life with his wife and three sons, and also enjoys doing some serious hiking and cycling when he gets the chance. It's an ongoing dream of his to hike or cycle across Europe, but this will probably always stay a dream for as long as he spends his time writing.
