Troubleshooting Problems

If you encounter problems while using your Kinect, you can attempt several actions to troubleshoot them before contacting Microsoft for help. What follows are some issues that could arise and solutions that may remedy the situation.

Sensor Doesn’t Work Properly

If you have tried to recalibrate your Kinect and the sensor still isn’t working, try the following:

• Check that your Kinect is securely plugged into your console. If you have your Kinect hooked up to an older Xbox 360, check that the connections to the console and to the power supply are secure and that the power supply is plugged into a wall outlet. When the unit is on, the green light in front of the sensor will be on.

• Make sure the sensor is in a well-ventilated area and that its side vents are not obstructed.
