Controllers

For the best in-game control, it’s hard to beat the wireless controller that comes with your system. It’s a proven, ergonomic design favored by millions of gamers and works out-of-the-box. That doesn’t mean there aren’t options, though, like the ones described here.

Wired

There are two main advantages to using a wired controller. One is that you never run out of batteries. Two is that this is the easiest way to use the controller with Windows XP or newer PCs; simply plug it into an available USB port. Naturally, the main disadvantage to a wired controller is that you’re tethered to your console, and that wire only goes so far.
