Digging into Your Profile

After going to the trouble to create a profile in Chapter 3, “Personalizing Your Xbox Experience,” you’re now ready to reap the rewards and take a look at all the available options that having a profile gives you.

If you aren’t signed in, make sure to select Sign In from the Social channel. When you’re signed in, highlight your profile, and select it by pressing A on your controller.

Main Profile

Your main profile consists of the following options: Messages, Customize Avatar, Change Theme, Achievements, and Change Gamertag, as well as a profile summary. Now take a closer look at the options.

Messages

Selecting Messages pulls up a Community screen that has four tabs at the top from which you can take specific actions. Some actions include: sending and receiving text and voice messages; inviting someone to chat one-on-one; inviting friends to a party where you can all play games and chat together; invite someone to play a game; or invite someone to become friends. These communication-centric features are why the entire section has the heading of Community. The top four tabs are as follows:
