4. Getting to Know Your Xbox > Using Cloud Storage for Game Saves

Using Cloud Storage for Game Saves

If you have more than one Xbox 360 or want to play games at a friend’s house, you can store your saved games in the Cloud on the Xbox LIVE servers. As long as you make your Xbox LIVE profile available on the other console (see “Moving, Deleting, and Recovering a Gamertag” in Chapter 3), you can continue playing right where you left off. Enabling Cloud Storage is easy if you follow these steps:

1. Go to the Settings channel, select System, and select Storage.

2. Select Cloud Saved Games.

3. Select Enable Cloud Saved Games.

4. Cloud Saved Games now shows up as an available storage device.

It’s Not All Good

If you no longer have an Xbox LIVE Gold membership, you will not be able to select your roaming profile or a Cloud Saved Game. Your files are still stored in the cloud and can be moved out of cloud storage to a local storage device. You can do this even if the file does not exist in the console’s memory cache.
