2.5. Distances and Bisectors

• The distance between any two geometric objects is always a line segment that is the shortest path or line between the two objects. The objects may be, for example, two points, a point and a line, two parallel lines, a point and a circle, or two concentric circles. The distance between two geometric objects is described in the following paragraphs.

• The distance between two points (X and Y) is measured by the shortest line segment between them (XY).
