Line Strings
A <LineString> is a collection of two or more coordinate values. Each coordinate in the series is connected to the next coordinate by a line segment. Line strings are commonly thought of as paths. Figure 3-3 shows a mapping of tectonic plates in California, created by the U.S. Geological Survey, which uses <LineString> and <LineStyle> elements to mark the boundaries between the plates.
