Appendix B. Importing Microsoft Word^® into FrameMaker 7.0

With FrameMaker 7.0, you can easily import documents from other applications, such as the latest versions of Microsoft Office^®, for which there is an installed filter. You can now import Word 97/98/2000 files into FrameMaker in just a few simple steps. You can choose to retain the Word document’s formatting or reformat the text using the current FrameMaker document’s catalog.

Importing the latest versions of Microsoft Excel^® files is also easy and takes just a few simple steps. You must select the Excel 97/98/2000 filter upon importing. For example, if you saved your Office 97 Excel document as a Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook file, you must import it using the Excel 5.0 filter because the Excel 97/98/2000 filter will not open it.
