Chapter Fifteen. Printing > The Transparency Pane

The Transparency Pane

Remember that, while transparency effects are fun and beautiful (well, in the right hands), they require an imaging model that goes beyond what PostScript supports. So, as mentioned in the transparency flattening section of Chapter 14, Color, QuarkXPress has to process the content so the outgoing print stream contains PostScript-legal objects. See Chapter 14 for in-depth coverage of transparency and the appropriate settings to use here.
