Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.

The Library

If your slides contain audio, backgrounds, images, animation or linked PowerPoint presentations, those assets are monitored by Captivate’s Library panel (available via the Window menu). Once the Library is opened, you can add previously imported assets onto any slide by simply dragging the asset’s name from the Library and onto the slide.

Student Activity: Use the Library

1.	ImageMe.cp should still be open.
2.	Show the Library. choose Window > Library The Library panel appears at the far right of your window.
3.	Go to Slide 2.
4.	Use the library to add an image to a slide. from the Library panel, double-click the word images to display the images currently in the project (if the images folder was already open, you’ve just closed the folder—in that case, double-click the word images again to display the images) on the Library, click one time on logo.gif (the logo is in the Images folder of the Library) At the top of the Library, notice that you can see a preview of the selected image. drag logo.gif from the Library panel and onto Slide 2 [View full size image] The logo appears on Slide 2. The information in the Library could prove helpful. Notice that the logo.gif row contains information such as the size of the image and how many times the image has been used in the project (you may have to stretch the Library panel wider to see the Use Count column).
5.	View specific image usage. on the Library, right-click logo.gif and choose Usage A dialog box appears telling you exactly which two slides are using the image. [View full size image] click OK Note You can open Libraries from any Captivate project by clicking the Open Library button on the Library and open any project. The assets used in the other Captivate project will appear on the Library panel and you can add them to the current project.
