Rollover Images

You learned all about working with images on page 87. Any image you can insert on a slide can instead be a Rollover Image. Similar to Rollover Captions, Rollover Images consist of an image and a rectangular “hot spot.” The Rollover Image will only appear in the published project if the user moves the mouse over the hot spot. You might consider using Rollover Images within your projects as a way to offer enhanced views of a dialog box, tool or schematic.

Student Activity: Insert a Rollover Image

1.
The MouseSkills project should still be open.

2.
Insert a Rollover Image.

  • go to Slide 3

  • choose Insert > Standard Objects > Rollover Image

  • from the Captivate4Data\images folder, open mouse1.bmp

Two things appear on Slide 3: the mouse image (which is the Rollover Image) and a Rollover Area. The Rollover Area is behind the mouse image. The two objects are shown pulled apart in the image below.
