One of the things you will come across most often in audio files is those annoying lip smacks. If you are the one recording the audio, you can take steps to avoid inevitable lip smacking by wetting your lips just prior to recording the audio. Of course, if you have inherited lip-smack audio, never fear. You can use Captivate’s Insert Silence feature to eliminate parts of an audio waveform without changing the duration of the audio.
1. | Open SilenceMe from the Captivate4Data folder. |
2. | Open Slide 2 and, if necessary, show the Timeline. |
3. | On the Timeline, double-click the waveform (the waveform is the last object on the Timeline) |
4. | Click at the beginning of the audio clip and then click the Play audio tool. Listen carefully, and you will notice that there are actually three lip smacks in the audio: one at 1.996 seconds, another at 4.388 seconds and a final one at 5.526 seconds. |
5. | Insert Silence.
