B.2. Other Attachments

B.2.1. TaleLight

This may seem incredible, but Tech Labs actually sells a tiny, acrylic-covered light—in your choice of colors and styles — that snaps into your HotSync port, as shown in Figure 2.1. It's billed as a "silent alarm" because, with the addition of the freeware program FlashHack, you can set up your Date Book alarms to flash this tiny light instead of sounding an alarm. Or use it as a flashlight for reading theatre programs. Or install the goofy Tricorder program (see Appendix A) to control the TaleLight (in "photon emitter" mode, of course), and the freeware program TaleLight Hack can even operate the TaleLight as a metronome or—in the event you're lost at sea in a life raft—a Morse code generator. Tech Labs, $12 to $25 (depending on model and color). http://members.aol.com/gmayhak/tcl/light.htm.

Figure B.1. The TaleLight is amazingly neat-looking. Use it as a flashlight, an alarm, or just to impress your friends.
