Features
There are several good reasons to purchase a Droid, including the fact that the feature set is always expanding. In fact, one of the biggest advantages of owning a smartphone—any smartphone—is that you can customize it infinitely by adding your own software. If you’re a developer, you can create apps yourself; the rest of us have to download them from the Android Market (see Chapter 8).
To start this section, I look at core features that come with the Android operating system installed on the Droid.
