Far too many people purchase an iPhone or iPod touch, download an app or two, then a few more, and then lots more, and before they know it, they’re flicking from page to page trying to find that elusive Classic Cooking for Zombies app. They do this because they’re unaware of their device’s organizational talents. Apple provides two good ways to keep your iPhone and iPod touch organized: the customized Home screen and folders.

Customizing the Home screen

The positions of icons on the Home screen aren’t ordained by the heavens. You’re welcome to move icons where you like. On the iPhone and iPod touch, this is easy to do. Follow these steps:

1. Tap and hold any icon.

All the icons on the Home screen start to wiggle.

2. Drag the icon to a new position.
