The iTunes Store
You can download the same content offered by the iTunes Store directly to the iPhone or iPod touch. You can choose among the same millions of tracks, podcasts, TV shows, music videos, movies, and iTunes U content in this pocket-size version of the iTunes Store and in the iTunes Store available via iTunes. The feature works this way.
To save wear and tear on your data plan, downloads over 3G are limited to 20 MB. Also, when you purchase or rent a high-definition (HD) movie or TV show with a iPhone or iPod touch, the HD version is downloaded to the device. When you purchase an HD movie or TV show, the standard-definition (SD) version will be made available for you to download to your computer. You don’t get an SD version when you rent an HD video.
