The following sections detail how to set up iCloud.

Apple ID

The first thing you need in order to work with iCloud is an Apple ID. With an Apple ID, you can access the iCloud and therefore the free 5 GB storage space. Perhaps you already have an Apple ID; this is the case if you have already purchased or downloaded anything in the past from iTunes or Apple’s App Store. If you do already have one, you can just skip this section.

During the initial configuration of your iPhone or iPad, you were also able to create an Apple ID.

In Settings, you’ll see the iCloud function. By tapping the item “Get a free Apple ID,” you can set up a new iCloud account. The step-by-step guide helps you create your Apple ID.

You can create a new Apple ID directly on the iPhone.
